Kiss French Acrylic Sculpture Kit

I'd like to first start out by letting everyone know this is just has a couple of pointers, tips, and mostly pictures explaining my experience with this kit.

This is my second time in my 25 years to have an acrylic (fake nail) manicure.
This is my first time doing this or any other type of nail kit, EVER!

This is perhaps the easiest, cheapest way to get yourself a nice, wonderful compliment-filled French Manicure, which lasted me 3 weeks.

  • Expect to be working with this for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, especially if it's your first time.
  • I agree there is never enough preparation. Read through the manual and just watch the videos provided on YouTube by KISS USA. (IMO everything else is just a waste and is taking away precious time from you actually starting and finishing this manicure; practice when you have to do it again!)
  • Do set down old/recycled paper underneath your working area, easy clean up & protection.
  • Use a gel/cream based cuticle remover. Ensures cuticles are pushed back, out of the way, and it's just the easiest way to groom that area, no cuticle clippers needed!
  • Will it chip? Yes. If you work in any type of environment that required you to peel off stickers, open cans/items, or anything that might need an edge of a nail. Remember, these are attached to your whole nail with glue; it's an extention of your own nail. It will hurt if you try to use them in any time of prying motion or they will chip/clip at the edges. This is why I said they lasted 3 weeks. (Personally, once I got used to them being mine, I started to become more rough with them, causing chips here and there. If you want stronger ones buy them separate after you've practiced.)
  • Do one last swipe of nail polish remover before applying glue and nail.
  • Spread the glue evenly, press the nail firmly. Do it in one try! I had to do a second try on my index finger nail and I had a problem with that one the whole time. So please, no air bubbles and try to do it in one try to prevent having to re-glue mid-wear.
  • Do all the buffing and shining steps to achieve a shiny finish. Top with a clear or Rimmel ProFrench Enamel for a perfect finish!

Best Baby Wipes

In the realm of cleansing wipes there are many categories to choose from: baby, feminine, anti-bacterial, make up removal, and many more. This time I'm talking about baby wipes, regardless of what it is used for, but I was on the search for a non-anti-bacterial wet wipe that can clean up and leave any area of the body refreshed and not sticky. Sometimes you just need a wet wipe and need it to clean as if nothing extra was on it, like a washcloth. I was at my local Target and picked up and reviewed the ingredients for various wipes: Summer's Eve, Target Up &Up brand feminine wipes and baby wipes, Always cleansing wipes, Wet Ones, and all varieties of baby wipes (Huggies, Pampers, etc.). All of the wipes were nearly identical in ingredients even though they were made for different purposes.

Finally I made my choice and picked the Huggies Naturally Refreshing Wipes (be careful when identifying, there is all sorts of 'natural' labels). For one, I actually have heard of and everyone has had a product with all the ingredients listed on this product. Other products contain: Bis PEG/PPG 16/16 Dimethicone, Capric/Caprylic Triglyceride, PEG 40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sodium Phosphate, Sodium Hydrolymethyglycinate, Benzyl Alcohol, Iodopropynyl Butycarbamate, Citric Acid, Bisabolol Dimethicone, Propylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Acrylates/Vinyl Isodecanoate Crosspolymer, Methylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Propylparaben, Ethylparaben, Polysorbate 20

This is a list for both a baby wipe and Always feminine wipes

One Ingredient that stands out on my list and on this product is: Retinol!
Who wouldn't want a little bit of Vitamin A on their skin,  it's beneficial and helps your skin cells behave in a younger way. Not even a makeup wipe has that!
5 out of 15 Ingredients on this product are questionable...that means the other 9 are great!

  • Water
  • Glycerin: found in everything from food to cosmetics
  • Malic Acid: an ingredient found in FOOD to create a tartness (apples, wine, grapes) it replaces Citric Acid and converts to a mild lactic acid. And that in turn makes it an Alpha Hydroxy Acid (for all the AHA and BHA seekers out there)
  • Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract (Aloe Vera)
  • Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract: Pot Marigold (a flower extract)
  • Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract: JAPANESE Green tea extract
  • Cucumis Sativus Fruit Extract (Cucumber)
  • Retinyl Palmitate: Aids the skin in production of Vitamin A
  • Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E)

For these ingredients studies have shown that the amounts placed on cosmetics products are in the parts per million and with continued use does not pose any threat.

  • Fragrance: That is questionable, but only to an extent. It's not a foreign substance.
  • Potassium Laureth Phosphate: One of the least harmful of surfactants because of it's excellent osmosis and skin compatibility, lower irritating, emulsifier. Raw material for beauty products (shampoos/shower gels). Leaving a "bath-like" cleanse.
  • Polysorbate 20: Check your Minty Candies next time, it is a wetting agent, it is being eaten. It is an anti-body substance that has the ability to help with the cleaning of protein (body fluids) membranes.
  • Tetrasodium EDTA: If you drink any type of soft drink chances are you're taking in this type of ingredient (sodium benzoate, absorbic acid) Aids in chlorine-free bleached items. Helps products stay moist longer increasing their stability towards air. Water soluble substance.
  • Methylparaben: Biodegradable. Food grade preservative, leaves body quickly.
  • Methylisothiazolinone: Biocide preservative, found in shampoos, soaps, leave ins and creams. Anti-bacterial used in the coating in food grade packaging. FDA approved for cosmetic use. Warning: If you are sensitive to soaps already, probably not a good idea to continue use as it is a possible allergen. If hands, hair, and other parts of skin become dry or suffering from dermatitis, discontinue use of ANY products with this in it (everything will go back to normal). Also known as MIT.

Don't Forget that the Retinyl Palmitate and Vitamin E fight free radicals and carcinogens!
It's the best of both worlds.

For the price, availability and ingredients this is my pick for the best wipe on the market!

Let's Try This Again...

Okay...finally! I cannot explain in words how elated I am to have a laptop again! In reality, I didn't really miss all the technology, because I used my phone most of the time to surf the net. The only thing I missed was an actual keyboard so that I can type all day and all night about get rid of all these ideas in my head; almost like a pensive. Maybe anyone who reads this post will rethink that it is not a closed blog. I know I made false promises on both my blogs, but it really is hard to keep up something when you don't actually have the equipment to back it up. I now have a phone, a camera, and computer. I'm still all ears to suggestions or just a big mouth and you get to read everything I write. Enjoy!...again.

REAL Before and After!

I am never ashamed to show these pictures because i was very fortunate to have loving and caring friends that never picked on me because of my size. I adored my parents because they enjoyed me in their lives, but in no way did they encourage me to have my lifestyle. That's another psychological post. This has been a transformation of 2 years due to diet and lifestyle changes due to particular events. Ask away...
I am on the left with the navy blue and orange logo t-shirt.

This is me now. This is after a 8 month stint in Japan where I ran 2.25 miles a day and had a very limited cuisine of Japanese Food. And after moving from Japan to Florida. Then, following a divorce, so I literally had no means of obtaining food. Now to a better road of recovery by consuming the Chinese diet...well, Taiwanese. And doing swimming, mixed martial arts, and Boxing with Tony in North Miami Beach. I love the new me, but improving everyday.

Get Over Your Period! (TMI Post) be aware!

Any ladies out there like me that get a little sensitive about even talking about womens' menstral cycle. The Period! Ahh...I am even running away from this post. However, I am still human and have explored my body enough to use everything from Kotex to Diva Cup...haven't used a sea sponge, yet...

My story: Once I was an overweight teenager and didn't really know what to do. I would wear one pad for the school day. I just wasn't comfortable to ask around. Again, because I was overweight I needed super long. I asked my mom for tampons because of sports, but they leaked. More embarrasment bombared my head. I enjoyed the Instead Softcup, but because it needs to stabilize itself on your pelvic bone. I enjoyed it because it catches a lot more solid materials that have cause previous methods to fail. On the down side, I am a sexual person and it would slip out of place if I could not control my lower half be it bathroom or tension. I went on a search to find a product that would give me the feeling of no period. Diva Cup was my AH HA moment. I have enjoyed it thoroghly.
Medical grade silicone.
Virtually no waste.
Can leave it in for up to 12 hours.
I would have repurchased, but for some reason I was compelled to revert to the old ways. The economy, maybe? If it wasn't set (suctioned) correctly it will leak out of the sides. I needed to change fast sometimes and holes need to be cleared for proper suction. This is where I need more sanitary and private surroundings. Hygenic reasons, yes, I needed to let it breath. The lining seemed more disturbed over time equaling more solids any time of the month. Perhaps because cells get adjusted. I didn't enjoy that thought. It really is a foreign object physically inside your body. Most of all, I tend to boycott things when they become popular because of high demand and use of cheaper labor and raw materials.
To name a few: Yes To Carrots originally made in Israel currently San Francisco. Burts Bees recently discontinued old formula in favor of new sabilizers and emulsifiers. EcoTools currently made in China now. I remember the Original Bare Essientials Brush. I got rid of it to get a new one and there is definately a difference in quality. Another post altogether.

Continued...
I found Stay Free Ultra Thin Long to be very comforting.

I love the dry touch.
The Test: Really placed a sheet of tissue paper on Stay Free and Infinity physically comparing the two with real product.
Packaging made me feel like an older, feminine woman; in a positive way. No funky colors or weird noises. Plesantly thin.
Glue stays put. Does not damage underwear or stick together when you want to rip it off quickly for saving embarrasing sounds. Glue from others on the wings have caused them to get stuck together making it a hassel to rip off the underwear.
Wings: They are also covered in that cotton-y material. No crotch irritation, even on a moisture, hot day.
Absorbs very well and to the center.
I have noticed, the smaller you are, less hassel and you can get away with regular length as it concentrates fluid to the center. I enjoy that now.
Fragrance. It is very light, I cannot even classify it as the generic fresh scent. It seems to give me a calm sense of mind because I cannot smell either odor. Just how I like it.
There can be a question about why you dislike them, but I prefer positive renforcement to practice the warding away of negative thoughts. I want to give myself time to reflect on a certain product and how it pertains to me. If not, simply walkaway and leave it be.

Playtex Gentle Glide Sport
Design keeps fingers from slipping, ease of insertion, and can guide a proper fit.
There is not a special outer coating that prevents materials from being absorbed.
Absorbs the right amount of material when you properly use the correct absorbency. For instance, a sponge picks up more when wet. Use super for heavier days as it is fair for both solids and liquids for natual moisture balance. I have experienced use of super on lighter days. Yes, it is harder to take out even when it leaks. The above is precisely why. As I switched, I noticed a sense of relief. The enjoyment and proper way of use.

All of this goes hand in hand with knowing your body to a tee. And I have enjoyed trying to give womenhood a chance because of all the learning I have done it makes this effortless. Since I have found it I continue to use My Monthly Cycles. It is an excellent tool to use to learn and experiment. When using Diva Cup I learned the precise course of my cycle. Heavy 1 to 2 days, lower fluid what time of the day, important for my sexual lifestyle, and ect. It was amazing to time for use of napkins and tampons. Not because of hassel, but I remember how my body feels each time. Experience it. Eventually the more in tune and healthier I have a cycle of 5 to 6 days. And my alerts with MMC have become in sync. Perhaps I can tell you my experience with this way of natural birth control as the effects were tried and true whatever the circumstances there were another time.

Give it Up! Kicking my MUA habit

I have a guily pleasure...I love reading reviews and NOT posting. Long are the days I haven't glanced at emakemeup and seem to care more about Makeup Alley because of its up to date speedy reviews. But in the world of social networking it got gobbled up and has thrown up the masses; I can't get a decent review on the thing. And it has been flooded by the younger (some older) crowd who seems to like to test on live product.
Pet Peeve I'll have to write about later because it is a filthy habit. I do not want to take a product that is contaminated by e. coli because of unsanitary hands. Yes, look up that fact. 100% of makeup testers even at high end make up counters are contaminated with e. coli. Please I prefer that you buy then return. Store gets credit from the company. You don't have a full makeup drawer with unused items. Let the company replace contaminated item. Eco-friendly. Sanitary (I have seen people who have just picked their nose and stick that pinky finger in cream eye liner Eww!) Get a decent trial run.

On to the point--> I am sure many would apprciate comments on thoughtful thorough reviews. Please shoot an email or comment if you want to read about a specific product. I want to get this ball rolling.

Shut Down

After much contemplating...okay after coming to a conclusion that I may never be able to keep up with a digital blog, thoughts, and the maintenance of posts I thought I would shut down this blog. Then I realized that I still love writing I just can't really be on the computer for a long time, but also being on the computer makes me wonder off topic. And I really have way too many thoughts in my head that I am faster at writing down the information I want to retain on paper or a notebook. Don't get me wrong I love the feeling of the keyboard under my fingers typing away madly, but only when I want to write something I want to whether information or a story. To get to the point... I have decided to keep it and revamp the title and blog entry style. I couldn't part with oops beauty, but may change in the future. It now stands for Only Online Personal Scribbling Beauty. As mentioned before I like to physically write down things I intend and want to remember so I'll be snapping pictures of my actual notebook. Since it's still related to my theme I don't want to change but even writing about this has me on the fence because I do write about everything. Well at least there is a warning about the ending and rebirth slash reincarnation of this blog. RIP oopsbeauty the art of becoming: my journey to becoming the best person that I can be. with peace and love I can create my ultimate temple. an alternative lifestyle and beauty blog

Sun Spots!

It's summer time, the days are longer and the sun is stronger. Even though we love to take care of our bodies just in time to hit the beach, we don't realize there is a culprit to be found afterwards in the mirror. To everyones' horror hyper pigmentation is beginning to become visible. Although we'd like to blame the sun, there are other factors out there that may cause these 'sun' slash 'age' spots. In any case 90% of premature aging is caused by UV light. I researched quite a bit and put this together for an all in one on how to get even with your skin! Go natural by trying spf without added chemicals and use the labor intensive technique of applying every 15 to 30 minutes to face and body. Your skin inside and out will love you. Remember it takes 6-7 minutes to sunburn and a full 15 to actually cause a skin burn. Alba makes a suncreen with an spf of 45 that is approved by the Skin Cancer Foundation.
