Any ladies out there like me that get a little sensitive about even talking about womens' menstral cycle. The Period! Ahh...I am even running away from this post. However, I am still human and have explored my body enough to use everything from Kotex to Diva Cup...haven't used a sea sponge, yet...
My story: Once I was an overweight teenager and didn't really know what to do. I would wear one pad for the school day. I just wasn't comfortable to ask around. Again, because I was overweight I needed super long. I asked my mom for tampons because of sports, but they leaked. More embarrasment bombared my head. I enjoyed the Instead Softcup, but because it needs to stabilize itself on your pelvic bone. I enjoyed it because it catches a lot more solid materials that have cause previous methods to fail. On the down side, I am a sexual person and it would slip out of place if I could not control my lower half be it bathroom or tension. I went on a search to find a product that would give me the feeling of no period. Diva Cup was my AH HA moment. I have enjoyed it thoroghly.
Medical grade silicone.
Virtually no waste.
Can leave it in for up to 12 hours.
I would have repurchased, but for some reason I was compelled to revert to the old ways. The economy, maybe? If it wasn't set (suctioned) correctly it will leak out of the sides. I needed to change fast sometimes and holes need to be cleared for proper suction. This is where I need more sanitary and private surroundings. Hygenic reasons, yes, I needed to let it breath. The lining seemed more disturbed over time equaling more solids any time of the month. Perhaps because cells get adjusted. I didn't enjoy that thought. It really is a foreign object physically inside your body. Most of all, I tend to boycott things when they become popular because of high demand and use of cheaper labor and raw materials.
To name a few: Yes To Carrots originally made in Israel currently San Francisco. Burts Bees recently discontinued old formula in favor of new sabilizers and emulsifiers. EcoTools currently made in China now. I remember the Original Bare Essientials Brush. I got rid of it to get a new one and there is definately a difference in quality. Another post altogether.

I found Stay Free Ultra Thin Long to be very comforting.
I love the dry touch.
The Test: Really placed a sheet of tissue paper on Stay Free and Infinity physically comparing the two with real product.
Packaging made me feel like an older, feminine woman; in a positive way. No funky colors or weird noises. Plesantly thin.
Glue stays put. Does not damage underwear or stick together when you want to rip it off quickly for saving embarrasing sounds. Glue from others on the wings have caused them to get stuck together making it a hassel to rip off the underwear.
Wings: They are also covered in that cotton-y material. No crotch irritation, even on a moisture, hot day.
Absorbs very well and to the center.
I have noticed, the smaller you are, less hassel and you can get away with regular length as it concentrates fluid to the center. I enjoy that now.
Fragrance. It is very light, I cannot even classify it as the generic fresh scent. It seems to give me a calm sense of mind because I cannot smell either odor. Just how I like it.
There can be a question about why you dislike them, but I prefer positive renforcement to practice the warding away of negative thoughts. I want to give myself time to reflect on a certain product and how it pertains to me. If not, simply walkaway and leave it be.
Playtex Gentle Glide Sport
Design keeps fingers from slipping, ease of insertion, and can guide a proper fit.
There is not a special outer coating that prevents materials from being absorbed.
Absorbs the right amount of material when you properly use the correct absorbency. For instance, a sponge picks up more when wet. Use super for heavier days as it is fair for both solids and liquids for natual moisture balance. I have experienced use of super on lighter days. Yes, it is harder to take out even when it leaks. The above is precisely why. As I switched, I noticed a sense of relief. The enjoyment and proper way of use.
All of this goes hand in hand with knowing your body to a tee. And I have enjoyed trying to give womenhood a chance because of all the learning I have done it makes this effortless. Since I have found it I continue to use My Monthly Cycles. It is an excellent tool to use to learn and experiment. When using Diva Cup I learned the precise course of my cycle. Heavy 1 to 2 days, lower fluid what time of the day, important for my sexual lifestyle, and ect. It was amazing to time for use of napkins and tampons. Not because of hassel, but I remember how my body feels each time. Experience it. Eventually the more in tune and healthier I have a cycle of 5 to 6 days. And my alerts with MMC have become in sync. Perhaps I can tell you my experience with this way of natural birth control as the effects were tried and true whatever the circumstances there were another time.
